RADAR SPEED SIGN TYPES
SPEEDCHECK™ permanent radar speed signs are ideal for use in areas where speeding is an ongoing concern that requires long-term, unattended traffic calming. Powered by the sun, or connected to the power grid, permanently installed SpeedCheck signs effectively slow traffic, providing a low maintenance, long-term solution to speeding.
SPEEDCHECK portable radar speed signs are easy to transport and quick to set-up—perfect for quick response to complaints of speeding traffic in neighborhoods. A portable radar speed sign can be mounted on a collapsible stand or attached via suction cups to a vehicle's trunk or roof. These speed radar traffic signs are used in a wide range of applications, such as temporary hazard zones, special events, short-term work zones, and for rotation through high-traffic neighborhoods
SPEEDCHECK trailer mounted radar speed signs (also called "radar trailers") are rugged and self-contained. A radar trailer is light enough to be towed by an automobile, yet built to withstand vandals and inclement weather. Our trailer mounted radar speed signs are entirely self-contained. They are great for applications requiring short-term, unattended traffic calming—construction zones, high-traffic neighborhoods and school zones.
SPEEDCHECK speed limit signs although not a radar speed sign, changeable speed limit signs are similar in that they display the speed limit using LEDs. In this way, the displayed speed limit can be changed. The speed limit displayed by the LEDs can be set automatically based on the traffic sign's internal clock (perhaps based on a school day or annual calendar), manually, or remotely. A variable speed limit traffic sign is an economical solution for slowing traffic in school zones or other areas where the speed limit varies based on time or traffic conditions. Our Active Speed Limit version of this traffic sign utilizes speed radar in addition to the variable speed limit traffic sign, allowing it to flash the display digits when the speed limit is exceeded.
