Trailer Mounted Radar Speed Signs
Trailer mounted radar speed signs (sometimes called "speed wagons" or "speed trailers") are rugged and convenient—tow one to the desired location, turn it on, and leave it to do its work. This type of radar speed sign is ideal for use in locations that require unattended traffic calming for a limited period of time (e.g., a construction zone or a busy neighborhood). Light enough to be towed by an automobile, yet built to withstand bad weather and vandals; these traffic signs provide a rugged alternative to portable radar speed signs.
Trailer Mounted Radar Speed Signs Are Rugged and Self-Contained
Trailer mounted radar speed signs are great for use in construction zones and in neighborhoods that complain of speeding traffic. Because these units can easily be towed from location to location, they are frequently used by police departments to rotate through neighborhoods in response to resident reports of speeding traffic. Their ruggedness makes them popular at construction zones where they may be set and ignored for weeks or months at a time. Powered by a combination of battery and/or solar power, these trailer mounted radar speed traffic signs eliminate any need for external power or recharging.
Deluxe Trailer Mounted Radar Speed Display
The Trailer Mounted Display requires no assembly and comes ready to deploy. The unit will operate up to 15 days without aid of its solar panels, although in normal operation the solar panels maintain battery charge on an ongoing basis. The deluxe trailer includes fenders, leaf springs, towing bar, tail lights, axle lock, four stabilizer feet, quick connect lighting harness (male and female), license plate holder, and is made of weatherized, 2 inch tubular steel. Also included is the speed limit traffic sign with changeable digits.
The advanced radar speed sign technology in our trailer mounted product is the same as is found in our pole mounted radar speed sign (SpeedCheck-1820F). This includes our UltraClear™ feature offering exceptional display clarity and contrast, and SafetyMask™ which prevents drivers from viewing the radar speed sign from acute angles, thereby focusing their attention on the roadway—not looking sideways at the radar speed sign.
Included as a standard feature is Violation Alert. (This is an option with our portable and pole mounted radar speed signs.) Violation Alert flashes the speed display at vehicles that are exceeding the speed. By calling attention to flagrant speed violations, traffic is more effectively slowed and safety thereby enhanced.
